The spirit of palliative care is reflected
by adding meaning to the days of those who are dying when we are unable to add
days to the life.
When embracing this noble objective, it is imperative
to live in acceptance with a high regard for "presencing" and spiritual and
emotional awareness. Education and support of the
caregiver will enable the end of life experience to be a deeply moving and
highly spiritual event. Compassionate service to the dying requires an
enhancement of spiritual development along with strengthened individual capacity
on the part of the caregiver. This role is usually learned thru trial and error,
often with regret and disappointment
afterward for mistakes that might have been made.
The focus of this in-service will be
the education, training, and support of the caregiver based on personal
experiences. PSYCHO-SOCIAL SPIRITUALITY AND THE CAREGIVER recounts with raw
honesty the feelings of the caregiver who searches, learns and applies inspiring
spiritual rituals of faith and trust. The Power of Presence emphasizes the five stages of emotional and spiritual growth as a
caregiver. Come along on the journey from fear to faith, from tears to triumph,
as this caregiver moves into the realm of spiritual awareness, practices
presencing and achieves glorious rewards for a job well done.
It is my mission to assist others to create a journey toward end of life which
is filled with days that are rich in quality and full of emotional and spiritual
clarity.
